Every spring, writers, readers and thinkers gather where the mountains meet the sea an hour south of Sydney for a weekend of literature, art and ideas. Now in its seventh year, Wollongong Writers Festival serves up a program of free and ticketed literary and cross-art form events for bringing the world to Wollongong and sharing the stories of Wollongong with the world.
This year, we are exploring the theme ‘All lit up’, with a program of events dedicated to topics that have been silenced, have stigma attached to them, or need to be spoken about in new or more complex ways. We are celebrating the power of writing for illuminating the things people do not speak about. The program will be announced on October 11, 2019. Click here to read a message from our Director.
